This intergovernmental agreement aims to strengthen Australia`s biosafety system by strengthening national cooperation between Australian governments. The agreement entered into force on 3 January 2019, when the Commonwealth and South Australia became the first signatories. Victoria has signed the National Partnership Agreement that facilitates the HomeBuilder program. Victoria is the first state to sign the national partnership between the Commonwealth, states and territories and the private and voluntary sector, announced Tuesday by Health Minister Greg Hunt. The partnership provides for 30,000 hospital beds and the 105,000 skilled workers in the sector work alongside public hospitals across Australia. An agreement to create and support the Australian Digital Health Agency and gradually transform the way health information is used for healthcare planning, management and delivery by implementing a world-class digital health capacity in Australia. An agreement between the Commonwealth and the states and territories on the creation of a national jurisdiction and a maritime safety regulator for all merchant ships in Australian waters. An agreement to establish a national regulatory system for all heavy vehicles over 4.5 tonnes, consisting of uniform laws managed by a single national regulatory authority. Key players in the private hospital sector have welcomed the first public partnership with the Victorian government, which ensures victorians have life-saving care in the fight against COVID-19.
